HVAC Technician III

Job Description

 

This is a position of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Condition Tech III.  It requires a master or journey level knowledge of HVAC trade.  The technician must be able to complete assigned tasks, work orders, and reports to the Maintenance Supervisors.

 

General Statement of Job

 

This is a position of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Condition Tech III.  It requires a master or journey level knowledge of HVAC trade.  The technician must be able to complete assigned tasks, work orders, and reports to Maintenance Supervisor

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Working knowledge of the methods, practices, and materials used in HVAC maintenance repair
  • Ability to work and follow OSHA and EPA guidelines
  • Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment necessary to perform work
  • Ability to repair heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, equipment, and energy management system
  • Ability to understand and work from sketches or drawings
  • Ability to follow oral or written instructions as assigned
  • Ability to plan and procure materials, and work  independently
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Minimum Training and Experience

 

  • Completion of High School
  • Five years of experience in the HVAC trade
  • Completion of courses or workshops in HVAC or related trade
  • EPA certification in refrigerant handling and recovery
  • Ability to obtain license in HVAC
  • Have a valid N.C. driver’s license

 

Minimum Qualifications or Standards Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

 

  • Able to perform work based on self-abilities and upon completion be acceptable in materials, workmanship, and appearance. Work should be of a technical nature and would require inspection and passing of building code laws
  • Must maintain an acceptable record and be punctual




Physical Requirements

 

  • Must be able to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Requires the ability to climb and maneuver on ladders, scaffolding, and/or in tight spaces. Physical demand requirements are for Medium Work.
