Itinerant Pre-K Exceptional Children's Teacher (Part-time - 60%)

 

 

Nature of Work

 

Under general supervision, provides special education services to students identified as disabled in accordance with state and federal regulations. Work involves developing and implementing the Individual Education Program in day care centers, Headstart and PK setting in Lenoir County Public Schools. The EC teacher is responsible for developing lesson plans, adapting materials and designing activities to assist EC students develop appropriate academic, behavioral, and social skills and to meet their IEP goals. The teacher is responsible for monitoring student’s progress and for maintaining EC records in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 Minimum Training and Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree in special education with at least one area of disability as a teacher. Must be licensed in North Carolina.

Work Assignment Requirements:

 

This is a part time job that requires 16 hours per week in EC PK programs in Lenoir County Public Schools. Approval by the EC Director is required if more than 16 hours per week is required. The teacher will be required to travel to assigned day care centers, headstart and PK Programs in LCPS.
